The Encyclopaedia Britannica Online is freely available in all Westmeath Libraries.

In addition, members can access the Encyclopaedia from home by following the links below and entering the 14 digit number from their library card when requested.

Britannica Junior
 

Visit Britannica Junior  which offers information and access to news and images suitable for the age group 5-11 years. Primary school children can use this site for timelines, World Atlas information and the Merriam-Webster’s Student Dictionary and Thesaurus.

Britannica Student

Visit Britannica Student  which offers access to information suitable for the age group 12-18 years. Secondary school students may find features such as Discover Europe, Biographies and the topical Highlights section useful for projects.

Encyclopaedia Britannica

Visit the Encyclopaedia Britannica for those aged 18+ to discover a world of additional information. Search the full range of Encyclopaedia Britannica or browse through features like The Year in Review, the Gateway to the Classics, or This Day in history.
